The Climate ‘Train Wreck’ is Heading Our Way

And Why No Amount of Denial will keep it at bay.

I once started writing a science fiction story wherein the world had destabilized climate-wise to the point where we were cycling through each season every four days. Food production had ground to a halt, and many were starving. The economy had collapsed, and The End was finally being recognized as being here. America was in post-apocalyptic mode, and it was every human for themselves.

Skip forward a few decades, and… Here we are. Oh, there’s still Summer and a certain amount of Spring and Fall, but Winter is already on that rollercoaster that I envisioned way back when.

One of my friends tells me that “You always were predicting disaster, and it never came.” But she also recognizes now that the Climate destabilizing is already happening. Even she (the ultimate pragmatist) though, has had to begin admitting that what I had predicted would come true, is beginning to come true.

Of course, I predicted other disaster scenarios that have yet to come true. Our planet is still able to produce enough oxygen to sustain life on the planet — for now.

Denial is not a River in Egypt

But still there are the Climate Change Deniers.
