How Nuclear Power is NOT our way to ‘Green Living.’

“Nuclear Power is one hell of a way to boil water.” — Albert Einstein

Nuclear power was supposed to be the “cleanest” way to produce electrical energy. “Nuclear Power! So Cheap, we won’t even be able to measure it!” the propaganda said.

Almost as bad was the propaganda surrounding the issue of radiation from nuclear weapons. “Why, it’s just like getting a sunburn!” the Nuclear Power Industry once wanted us to believe.

In truth, there is Nothing ‘clean’ about nuclear power, nor is there with regards to nuclear radiation. Extracting lithium and the other metals/ minerals for EV batteries as toxic as they are, just does not compare to the dangers of extracting (and maintaining the byproducts of) fissionable uranium and plutonium.

And then there’s the storage issued for both spent uranium and plutonium. The half life of both being hundreds of thousands of years, we have to “bury the waste in a big, big hole” (to quote Sting). And yes, that requires such massive amounts of preparations and protections in place to secure both.

And here is where the advocates of Nuclear like to bury the truth.

They do so trying to discredit any other form of (more truer) Green Technology. They say that…
